Pottery Class Terms & Conditions
Thanks for booking a class! Please read these terms before you book. By booking a class, you agree to them.
The class
- Each class lasts two hours and takes place at my studio in the east end of Nob Hill in Albuquerque. The address will be sent with your booking confirmation.
- Classes are small (up to four people) and no experience is needed.
- Clay, tools, glazes and firing are included in the price.
- Please arrive 5–10 minutes early. My studio is in a shared building and the front door is in a different part of the building, so I may not hear you knocking. Classes start and end on time, and if you arrive late, the class can't be extended.
Your pieces
- At the end of class you'll choose two pieces to keep.
- After class, I trim, glaze (in the glaze of your choice) and fire your pieces. They're ready for pickup at the studio about 2–3 weeks after class, and I'll email you when they're ready.
- I'll hold your finished pieces for 2 months. Pieces not picked up within 2 months of that email may be recycled.
- Finished pieces are microwave, dishwasher and food safe.
- Every handmade piece is unique. Glaze colors can vary, and occasionally a piece cracks or doesn't survive the kiln. I'll always do my best, but pieces are presented how they come out of the kiln.
Booking, changes and cancellations
- Classes are paid in full when you book. Bookings close 24 hours before each class.
- You can change your class time or cancel for a full refund to your original payment method up to 24 hours before your class on the Manage your booking page.
- Within 24 hours of class, bookings can't be refunded or changed, but you're welcome to send someone in your place. Just let me know their name.
- Missed classes (no-shows) are not refunded.
- If I have to cancel a class (for illness or an emergency, for example), you can choose a new time or a full refund.
Who can attend
- Students must be 12 or older.
- Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult for the whole class. The adult can watch for free, or book their own spot to join in.
- Everyone working with clay needs their own spot. Please enter each person's name when you book.
What to wear
- Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting messy, and please wear closed-toe shoes.
- Long hair will need to be tied back, and having short nails will make throwing much easier. You may also want to take off rings and bracelets.
Studio safety
- Please follow instructions for using tools and equipment. Working with clay is hands-on and physical, and you take part at your own risk.
- Let me know before class about any health conditions, injuries, allergies or pregnancy that I should know about.
- I may ask anyone who is behaving unsafely, or who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to leave without a refund.
- I'm not responsible for lost or damaged personal belongings.
Photos
- I sometimes take photos during class to share on the website or social media. If you'd rather not appear in them, just tell me at the start of class.
Gift cards
- Gift cards can be used to book classes. A $75 gift card covers one person for one class.
